1) Has it gotten hotter? Summer heat can evaporate water faster as well as running the a/c a lot more. The engine will compensate by trying to cool the system for longer periods. This is probably the most likely cause and that you just need to check coolant more often.
2) check your radiator cap. as no pressure from the cap can cause water to leak out of the radiator and not into the overflow tank at higher temps. and would not normally be seen. To check the cap you need a pressure tester. Just go to a radiator shop or dealer and have them check. should be free.

Airpockets would tend to cause overheating in the radiator at high temps and would violently (depending upon how much air) push water out also.
