Well, regarding #1, they said they lubed it again and they couldn't hear anymore squeaking. I get it back and now it doesn't squeak on the way down - it squeaks on the way up! LOUDLY. Like I can hear it with the radio up. The service writer told me that if it keeps happening then there's nothing else they can do, since I've had it lubed every time I go in there, and the entire assembly replaced once. I say there's a defect here...
Regarding #2, I ordered new tires from Aaron, since they said the whole handling problem was caused by the tires being worn. The tires were wearing badly because they were worn? Huh? Well, they're supposed to realign the car for free once the new paws are on, and they better do it right.
Regarding #3, I had the system cranked up and I heard this loud >pop< like a marble hitting a tin roof. Since then, low bass tracks cause a speaker to rattle. I haven't figured out whether it was a scrambled channel in that goofy 10 channel factory amp/active crossover/sound expander unit. Until recently, I never bothered to isolate which corner of the car the rattle was coming from.
The service writer tells me they couldn't hear anything wrong, and said she even tried some of her own CD's. She says that maybe its the music I listen to...
Anyway, I isolated the rattle down to the right front corner, and it buzzes real good on track 14 from the Braveheart soundtrack, and track 4 on the Matrix, even at moderate listening levels. I plan on showing this to her Tuesday when I bring the car in for the tire service. Now watch them try to work their way out of this by saying that speakers are 'wear items'
