I called Aaron up at Tirerack to order some Yokohama AVS Sports. I let him talk me into some Bridgestones instead. They go on Tuesday, so I'll get back to you regarding the rain grip. I don't consider the S02 to be a good all weather tire. They are designed for people who don't take their 993 out in the rain, and only drive it once in a great while, very fast to the gas station when the gas evaporates from non use. I hate the stock Michelin Mxx3 tires. They ride like crap, and the car got squirrely at less than 20k miles. So I wouldn't recommend any of their other tires. I haven't had a set of Goodyears since the Gatorbacks on my T/A, but if the GS-D2 is like the Eagle VR, then its wet handling blows chunks. On a low mileage set of those I had the tail pass the nose in a light rain, just with moderate acceleration from a stoplight. The wider the tire gets, the worse a typical Goodyear tire evacuates rainwater. Aaron knows his stuff, so you might want to give him a call.
