: : and you don't at least investigate his claim, it's also your fault if you're wrong.
: : IMO it's just as bad to disagree w/o investigation as it is to agree. If you think he's blowing smoke, look into it.
: : BTW I DID investigate and I DON'T have Jim C's setup - not because it's worse but because I discovered that the heat-shielded open filter type intakes all performed basically the same. I made my choice (Dinan CAI) simply because I liked the looks.
: Dear Mr. Dawg,
: I did look into it. Before they were even dyno'd. What I looked into was the filters. See, Mr. Conforti claims the ITG filter is better then the K&N because it not only flows better, but filters better. That's like eating whatever you want AND losing weight!!! The filter that Jim C. uses is about 1/3 of the size then the K&N that ECIS uses. I'm not much of a genious, but, how can it be a 1/3 of the K&N and do both better??? So I made some calls and found out that the ITG filter eventually falls apart and gets sucked into the HFM. So does it flow better? Yes, it does. But, it's not going to filter better nor hold up over the long haul. Mr. Conforti has also said the K&N starts to clog right away, robbing HP. That's because IT IS filtering. Like I said, I'm not much of a genious, just use lot's of common sense. And, also make phone calls. I think I'm a pretty open minded guy, but just have a tendency not to believe anyone's hype.
: BTW, I'm not an attorney, I just play one on TV!
