Try a rubber mallet. If you want to use a hammer be sure to use a 2X4 or some other wood so as not to bend the rotor. You can also use a gear puller or small engine flywheel puller. Be patient with the puller, line it up correctly and be carefull!! It might look like its not coming off, but then it just pops off and look out!! Hope this helps. When reinstalling, coat inner surface with anti-seize compound after wire brushing the rust away.
