Your first choice should be a 2 day school that the San Diego Chapter of BMWCCA is putting on at Buttonwillow racetrack (3 mile roadcourse) on 9/22-23. No matter how fast you think you already are, this school will make you WAY quicker and far safer. Check their website ... it costs around $325. The Los Angeles chapter of BMWCCA also holds similar schools. You don't have to be a member of the particular chapter to go to their school. After going to school, there are two SoCal track companies that host events at Buttonwillow and at WillowSprings. They cost $100-140 per day. Both have websites. www.open-track.com and www.speedtrailusa.com.
I've been to all of these and they're worthwhile. Whatever you do, go to the school first.
