As a previous 3rd gen RX7 owner that presently has a 99 M3...RX7 is at least the equal. And if you compare stock 0-60 and 1/4 mile times as tested by the auto mags, you will find RX7 a couple ticks quicker 0-60 but 1/4 mile times are closer. Also, RX7 is turbo'd and thus easy to modify for a lot more HP. A large number of owners have modded these cars to 300+ HP. My modified RX7 would simply blow the doors off my M3. Problem with RX7 is reliability.
