I used to be a big fan of Kef back around 1985-1990. They had the sweetest sounding platemounts I've ever heard. Now they have this thing called Uni-Q, otherwise known in the vernacular as "point-source". They take a mid woofer and put an independant tweeter where the dustcap is supposed to go. I'm not sure why this is any different from a standard post-mount coaxial, but they say there is a difference. Has anyone here used these speakers in an installation? I was wondering if I could replace the kick panel and door panel mids with the 5.25 and 4 versions of the Uni-Q speaker, or would that be too much tweeter, since each driver would have a tweeter? I also noticed their web site has vanished since last year. kefkaraudio.com was it - anyone know where they went?
