Went to pick the car up and was informed that they needed to replace the transmission. Service rep mentioned that this was a "fairly common" problem among M3s, and that BMW had an updated transmission that would solve the problem.
So my question - anyone else had this problem? Seems strange that my car (build March 99) wouldn't have had the updated transmission design from the factory, since it was built near the end of the E36 production run. On one hand I guess I shouldn't complain, but a tranny replacement after less than 10K miles is a little concerning. Thoughts or suggestions?
