: Just because you like to push your cars hard, doesnt mean you have to shift into second at 100 mph. Most of us here push our cars hard, and most of us dont blow our engines. So learn how to shift and then.....Actually JUST KILL YOURSELF.
: And stop killing innocent M3s.

: : Last Thursday I was trying to pass a car and I went down to third gear all the way to about 97 mph and when I shifted into fourth I accidentally hit second gear! At first I reved the engine and everything seemed fine but after a while the check engine light appeared. The engine is shaking at idle so I am preety sure that I bent the valves. I simply cannot believe that this happened to me and frankly I don't know what to think. I do have a M3 3.2 engine sitting in my garage waiting for the transplant but this happened to me in just six months of owning this e36. How long before I damage the other engine? The chances of this happening again are not slim and I like to push real hard my cars (always have, always will). Sorry guys just venting out my feelings.

First of all it was a misshift I was going for fourth not second. 2. My car goes to 97 just before redline (cutoff). And occasional shifting before redline is something normal for a spirited driver. 3 I know how to shift you dickhead! If I didn't know how to handle tranny's and my reaction time with the clutch been slower I would surely have done more damage. 4. I did not blow the engine I just bent a little the valves. 5. This is my BMW #14 and this has never happened to me on any of them. Not a single BMW engine or tranny has gone bad in my hands. 6. WTF is with you saying killing myself? Do you have a problem buddy! I just was venting out with you guys because I knew that some of you have been through this and all I got in response was some smartass that must be related to Fangio that was born perfect and is mistake proof give me a stupid answer. Adam if you don't have anything good to say (support) just keep them to yourself!
