Newer engines such as the M50, M50TU, M52, M52TU, S50/S52, M54, S54, S62, or anything higher than a 10:1 compression ratio is an interference engine.

Heck you can remove the timing chain, leave the cams in there position without moving and turn over the engine and "clank clank clank... oh shit!"

Hey, you can always lower the compression to 8.5:1 with a thicker head gasket but you'll have a powerloss, unless you go forced induction.
