The concept behind the KEF uni-q driver is a very good one. By placing the tweeter in that spot they get almost perfect time alignment of the tweeter to the mid. This alignment plays a big role in certain non-frequency response related qualities (was I vague enough here???).

The problems with in the Uni-q as I remember them: They "huff" when pushed hard (air escapes around the edge to the tweeter and it's audible). 2. They have a "hole" around 11k hz (I mean just plain don't play that frequency - infinite) can't correct infinity with an EQ or digital processor!!!

There are some other companies who make a Uni-q like driver, but I don't remember who for sure (might have been Morel) that tested much better then the "real" Uni-Q drivers.
