: 4K is way to much.

: Go for one of the online companies.

: Should cut the cost in half. Picked up a platinum plan from for $2,000 when I picked up my car a year ago.

: Have not needed it. I also found a mechanic that is dirt cheap and I do not believe I will ever reach $2000.

: Nice to have, just in case.

: : I plan to keep my car after another 2 years of payments, should I get tthe extended warranty? Allison BMW in Mountain View, CA is asking $4000 on a 5 year/ 100,000 mile extended warranty! Please advice!

I priced out WarrantyGold for my '95 M3 w/70,000 miles. They quoted me something like $2,400 for 1 year, up to $5,000 for 3 years. Compared to that, 5 years for $4,000 sounds cheap.
