Best piece of advice I ever got was at driving school.. The instructor drilled it into our heads that "you cannot make up time, you can only lose it." Focusing on that helps me avoid going for that "Days Of Thunder Pass 'Em on Outside" BS.. I know it's hard!! Everytime I go into a tight turn I have to fight the urge to just boot it sideways and come out in a drift all crossed up.. I have a sickness, and I'm ok with that. ;-) Anyhow, stay calm, think smooth, and don't try so hard. Don't fight it. Get in, focus, groove and have fun. Maybe do some relaxation exercises before the race.. The harder you try, the slower you go.
