I had the same problem. I used the large washers in conjunction with the smaller M8 (8mm) bolts. However, that said, the parts kit that was sent to me only had two 8mm bolts (and 4 10mm bolts - go figure) of about an inch long. I went down to the parts store and bought 4 8x25mm bolts of about 1.5 inches in length. I popped the large washers on the new 8mm bolt following a 5/16 washer at the base of the head and everything fit nicely.

DO NOT over-tighten the 8mm. 20ft-lb of torque is plenty. I'm paying for instructional misdirection with a broken bolt.

BTW....have fun after its on....big difference!
