Thanks for your post.

1st - you are correct, not replacing the impeller alone, as indicated by another...duh.

2nd - I wasn't quoting any given price, and hence I was not actually insinuating the the dealer would actually be ripping me off on this part. Just wondering if anyone might be able to recommend another source, and was merely using a common nickname for the dealer.

3rd - have seen comments indicating both, but you obviously had the emphatic information that I needed. You rule, and so eloquently too.

Calm.

: You cannot replace just the impeller. The pump is only around $60 from the "stealer" with CCA discount, hardly a rip off.

:
: : Can anyone please definitively confirm whether or not an 11/95 production date M3 has a plastic impeller? I have seen this answered both ways in the archives and the mechanic at the dealer doesn't seem to know for sure either.

: : I'd like to know before I buy a replacement for my 11/95 M3, w/65k miles, and hopefully before my car supplies the affirming answer.

: : I second Drew's question on where to find a deal on a new OEM pump (vs the impeller alone)...surely there must be a viable alternate source to the "stealer"!

: : TIA,

: : : Well you guessed it. I have a 10/95 M3 and have about 54k on it. I have been meaning to get to replacing the water pump but just haven't found the time yet. Well i guess i have to make time now.
