: I was wondering if your wheel weights were on the outside of your wheel or if they are on the inside. I just got new AVS Sports and have a bad shimmy and was wondering if this had anything to do with it

I just got some AVS sports too. They (Discount Tire) balanced the tires by putting, weights on both inside and out. I hit the freeway and imedietly noticed a shimmy. So I returned to the tire shop and asked them to re-torque the wheels to bmw spec. Problem fixed! I have been through this before on e-36's. Over-tourqueing of the wheels can cause the rotors to warp. You might want to double check to see if thats what's going on.
