I suggest you check your setting by getting the car on a flat level surface or a very, very slight incline pointing "up" the hill. Put the car in first gear and depress the clutch pedal all the way to the clutch stop. If the clutch stop is adjusted correctly the car will remain still on a flat surface or will roll backward (due to the slight incline) instead of moving forward (due to friction of the clutch and flywheel). As long as the car doesn't move forward the clutch is not making contact and there is no added wear.

: I just got a clutch stop and was wondering if they cause any premature clutch wear. I know it is not necessary to push the clutch all the may to the floor, which i often end up doing, but at what point should i set the clutch stop so that i get past the point of where i may be causing any early wear to it? Im not very knowledgeable about the internal workings of a clutch, so i thought that it should be set right after the "friction point" or mesh point, where the clutch begins to engage the gear. Is this correct? I know alot of people on the board have them, so any help would be appreciated.
