It is adjustable and it's a bitch. Unless you have lots of time to kill I suggest you pay a BMW specialist to do it. To do it properly you need to adjust the thumbwheel which adjusts the brake in each rear drum (integrated into the disc), which is a huge PITA; it is very difficult to move the thumbwheel (you do it basically blind with a thin tool through one of the lug holes). You also have to adjust the play at the handle end, which is the easy part. Again, I stress that even with excellent directions and pictures it is very time-consuming and difficult (I gave up after overtightening one side - it was even harder to adjust it looser).

: Anyone knows if the e-brake on our cars could be adjusted?...'cause compare when the car was new, now, I found that I need to pull up the e-brake higher in order for the car to stop..So, if anyone know how to adjust it, please let me know. TIA.
