They say the way to check to see if it is actually gone or just covered up is to put denatured alchol on the paint to remove the wax(or polish) to see if the scratches are still there. ( I am not trying to trick you or anything...www.meguiars.com) Have you tried this to see if they are really gone or not?

I am sorry to go over a big war about this...I have just never heard of this before.
