minutes afterwards, and it goes away. My $0.02 is that it is not bad gas or a bad converter, just a trait of our beloved ///M's. I have noticed that other cars produce the same smell when under a load.

I think it is just a result of the tuning of our motors, nothing bad mind you. As my recent emissions test and avg. mpg (27.3) show, at least my converter is good.
