If I were you, I'd get four new tires, not just replace the rears. Although you like the Pirellis that came on your car, many on this board have had less than satisfactory experiences with 'em; "cupping" seems to be the major complaint, but perhaps you haven't had that problem. (I had Pirellis on my ol' 325iS, and they did start to thumpthumpthumpthump. The service mgr at my dealer said that "They all do that." Maybe he was right (?)
If price is truly no object, Michelin makes an excellent product for your M3. However, many on this board swear by the Yokahama AVS Sport. I have these tires and am very, very satisfied; they are quiet at speed and offer OUTSTANDING grip.
I'm sure you will get other opinions, but that's my $0.02. Happy motoring!
