If you have a lighted knob, I would disconnect the wiring to the knob before attempting to take the knob off. You can do this by unclipping the leather boot from the center console. There clips on the right side of the boot. Just grab the side of the leather boot and pull towards the middle where the knob is. Disconnecting the wiring will prevent you from yanking the whole connection out when pulling the knob out.
