Problems: Perma-grin, Gawkers, people wanna race, you wanna drive ALL the time. No, '96 and newer M3's are not easily modded for more power, unlike the S4 (50hp via $400 chip), however, you'd need to spend about $2000 in chasis mods to make an S4 handle and feel anything close to a stock M3. I was thinking of getting rid of my POS Mustang GT to get a fine german sports coupe. I was thinking of the S4, but it was going to cost about 41k +tax, fees. So, I thought about getting a used M3, probably a '98. Can any of you tell me problems you have encountered with these cars? What kind of modifications can be done to make it faster?
