I was panic stricken when my check engine light came on one week after buying my 97 earlier this year. Cust Service told me assuredly that it could be a variety of issues, as minute as the gas cap not being shut properly.

The light went away after a while on its own, on my next visit the dealership cofirmed that my not shutting the gas cap properly that time was the problem. Apparently it's quite common because that was their first guess.

Prior
had it checked out and was told that if you pump gas with the engine running (which i did in a rush) an air leak forms sometimes and the computer registers it as something wrong. everything is fine but has anybody else ever had this problem?
