If you're going to paint them, and if you are as particular about your car as I am, go with either FoliaTec or get them powdercoated.
Mine have been painted for over a year with the FoliaTec stuff, and they look as good as the day I did them. If you're going to spend the time doing them, do them the right way.
Powder would have been better, but its a lot more work...
Hmmm, well, i use engine paint. I wrap around the calipers with some news paper, after i clean then off with Brake and Parts cleaner, then i take the red high temperature engine enamle and spray them down. I do it about every month or so. Just a few light coats to keep them nice and fresh looking. The brake dust really starts deteriorating the paint after a while, so it doesnt hurt to refresh the paint every so often. After im done, i take the brake and parts cleaner and clean off all the excess off the brake rotors and where ever else it might have sprayed.
The only thing is, its a pain putting the car on the lift because of the lowered suspension.
ohhh, i work for a dealership so i have access to a lift and all sorts of high tech tools so it doesnt take me but like 20 minutes to do all of my calipers.
