Another option is to get the Blaupunkt Toronto. Crutchfield had these on sale for a song and you can get a harness that will just plug right in. I had this and liked it. The best things about it are that it looks almost stock (buttons are round instead of rectangular) and the color of the lighting can be customized between red--orange--green in something like 12 steps. The color was a dead on match.
I have a 95 M3 with a tape head unit that came stock. What I really want is a cd head unit, and not a changer. Is there a simple way to do this? Any good head units that will fit, not look too glitzy (aiwa style lights!), and cost around 200 bucks?
I don't want to do anything else to the stereo, b/c I have a sweet home stereo (NHT and harman kardon).
My only interest is in being able to play cd's instead of tapes.
thanks in advance,
