I noticed a sticky spot and figured I must have gotten something on there. I used the Leatherique leather oil and cleaner and instead of removing the gunk, the top layer of leather came off in a big gummy mess. I have no idea what I could have had on my hand that would have eaten leather without eating me. The only thing I can think of is that some one at the tire shop, or the dealer, or the emissions test station etc. had some solvent on hands when they got in the car. I really wish I knew.
