chris, i just bought my first BMW a few months ago (98 M3/4) fully loaded except for the heated seats and spoiler for 37 grand with the cert. pre owned warrenty and it only had 13700 miles on it.
the price they quoted you seems a little high. granted they are offering to put in a new clutch but thats kina strange because if its cert. pre owned its susposed to be in perfect working condition. new brakes, tires, etc. if the clutch is worn it make me wonder what the owner before you did with it. unless he draged raced alot, it shouldnt need a new clutch for quite along time. in fact ive heard alot of others who clutches have last well over 80,000 miles on the M3. id look around or wait for your new E46 M3.

and yes i still have a perma grin from driving my M3.

my .02
