Well, of course being a nice crisp 98 degree day I headed out to the local drag strip Southwestern INternational Raceway. By they time I got out there it was 93. I made two runs after checking in, I just wanted to get a feel for a full heat soaked engine. I turned a 14.7 at 95mph, then I looked down and saw the ASC was not turned off, duh. The next run gave me a 14.60 with a 60ft time of 2.00 sec, overall speed was about 95.

I parked Helga and headed up to the stands to watch some of the big hp American boys run. Man, some of those cars scoot. There were a few nitro fuels, a think 2 funny cars, but no rails.

After 1 and a half hours I went back out, this time with determination. I dropped the rear PSI to about 20 and made sure the ASC was off. This Civi SI pulled up in the lane next to me with fire in his eyes. Low and behold his fire turned to tears when he turned a 16.7 pass, and I a 14.4. This went on all night, honda, cavilier, S-10 pick up(no mods). It felt great even though my times were not all they could have been.

I would say that due to the weather and 3000 foot elevation my times were effected. Just by asking around, there was a kid who just moved from Miami a month ago where he was running consistent 15.6s to last nights 16.2-16.6s. I still had fun though. ANyone in AZ out there? Maybe a Phoenix run? I heard that times are generally 3 tenths quicker.
