Here in miami (i've seen tons of E36 3series like
that, but the front hood, trunk lid, wheels
missing, and damage on the body.

If someone takes it for parts, it's done to the
vin #'s. body panels sold to body shops, wheels
left to rim shops, interior parts left to
upholstry specialists, or everything just ends
up in the Bargain Trader.

Whoever did this, was a insurance job. IF it was
someone who had beef (ie: personal problems with
the owner) they would have torched it and/or dump
brake fluids all over it.
