I'm referring to actually using 4 free standing jackstands to keep the entire car off the ground while all 4 rims are removed. Do I place these a few inches in from the hole where the BMW jack points are? I just want to make sure I lift on solid metal and not plastic.

What is Ron Stygar's unofficial bmw page's address?

you will see under the edges of the car, where the plastic skirting piece is trimmed around a steel area (with a hole it it) the jackstand will go right there. and to jack the car up, use the 2 places under the center of the car as diagrammed on Ron Stygar's unofficial bmw page. i use the rhino ramps to raise the front end to get the big floor jack under, then go from there.

I need to place my 97 M3/4 on jack stands while all 4 rims are refinished. Does anyone have a photo or diagram of where these jacks should be placed.

Thanks.
