In Reply to: Eibach swaybar help (hitting lower control arm)? posted by Krit on September 24, 2000 at 21:07:49:

I've been fighting that clunk for some time now... I have Eibach's and stock suspension, but I get that clunk none the less.

I've been under my car and watched almost full suspension travel, and the bars do not touch the control arms at any point. One problem that I did have was the the mounts for the links were both loose and the bar would bounce up and down and hit the arms.

First thing you might want to do is take a look at the mounts for the links, and then look at the shock mounts. That clunk may not be where you think it is...

Cheers,
Dave

(I'm taking the sways off my car this weekend, that will finally PROVE that they aren't my clunk)

I have been getting noises from the rear suspesion for sometime. And this past weekend I took the car to dealer and have them check out the noises. (the noises happened when I drive over bump or incline and it sounds like click-click). It turned out that the rear Eibach sway is too long and hit the lower control arm. I have the Eibach set on soft (the outter hole) in the rear. FYI I have H&R race w/ bilestein shocks. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? or any one with similar experiences?

Thanks,
Krit
