Insurance companies pay for mods? So do you just show them your receipts and they add that to the value? Do you have to tell the insurance company prior to the event or does it not matter? Sorry for the questions. TIA.

one of my friends had his 94 integra gsr stolen a couple weeks ago. they stripped his body kit, his exhaust, intake, headers, cams, seats, gauges, shift knob, tires, basically everything, including a 1500 sound system. while the car was technically repairable, the insurance company cut him a check for 19000 for kbb plus the value of his mods
