How can I find out about BMWCCA chapters? I figure the best way to find out about a used M3 is to actually TALK to people that drive them like yourself.
: Check out the Peachtree Chapter website at www.peachtreebmwcca.org or call them at 770.664.0624 or join BMWCCA by calling 800.878.9292. You are right, talking to owners is the best way to get a sense of the maintanence involved, insurance costs, and any other practical concerns.
My current Honda mechanic recommended a specialist called Auto Europe on Piedmont. Mechanics name is Norm. I talked his ear off for a while and he LOVES the M3. That's all I know at the moment.
:I'll definitey check it out, thanks for the recommendation!
I really need a place where I can take USED M's that Im considering buying for a nuts/bolts inspection to make a smart used purchase.
Who do you use now?
:I bought the car in another state and paid the local BMW dealership about $100 to check it out. Definitely a worthwhile practice considering the tires needed replacement (cupping), rear shocks were worn, and drive belts needed replacement -- these are things I never could have been sure of otherwise. Plus, it gave me room to negotiate. Here in Atlanta I have had my car serviced at Chris BMW and must say that I was impressed with their work, consideration, and timeliness. I would trust their judgement as far as inspecting a used M3.
