Back before I could afford BMWs, I bought a brand new '89 Beretta GT. It was actually a pretty decent car, at least when it was new. By the time it had 40,000 miles on it, however, it was loose, rattly, and falling apart. I traded it in for a 1987 BMW 325 (2.7 ETA engine) with 75,000 miles, and was hooked for life. Amazing how a car two years older with nearly twice as many miles could feel so dramatically better. Now we're on our 3rd and 4th BMWs, a '99 M3 convertible and a '00 323i Sport Wagon.
