This morning, I get into my car (having left my windows down and sunroof open), start the car and the windows won't go up and the sunroof won't close??? WTF? Forecast says it might rain today, so I get out use the key in the door and the windows go up woth no problem, I use the hex wrench in the toolbox and manually crank the sunroof shut, but the interior controls aren't responding....no fresh air till I figure out what I did....remember awhile back I accidentally reset the window control and was able to easily set it back (press & hold window switch in opposite direction for 30 sec's)....
Here's the ONLY thing out of the ordinary I did last night..I followed the directions for hardwiring the V-1 into the switchable wiring for the overhead maplights, it diden't work?? I'm not an idiot when it comes to this stuff, but I couldn't figure it out...SO, I tapped into the red wire leading to the sunroof and grounded to metal near the sunroof motor...still no power to the V-1...by the way, it works fine by way of the lighter socket...I just hate the damn wire in the way...
SO, did I short something, all three wires I tapped into are securely insulated and the maplights operate properly...Hell, I didn't even cut the sunroof wire, just shaved the insulation off one side! I checked both fuses (marked SUNROOF and WINDOW LIFT) and they're both good, I pulled 'em out and put 'em back in and even replaced them to make sure......
ANYBODY have an idea??
