So, I went to Petit LeMans with my girlfriend and my friend Mark, he got us Audi VIP passes. We met Derek Bell, got autographs on our passes and Audi flags. We had a blast, great racing. Unfortunately the Audis won and both PTG M3 DNF'd, one of the LMR's flipped, I think, not sure haven't seen that yet, got pictures of the car going on to rollback.
Sunday at the Oktoberfest club race we were walking around the paddock and went over to the Turner Motorsport trailer. We were looking around at their display and there was a hood of off Don Salama's #94 car leaning against the table. One of the crew came over and started cleaning the table off, I asked if the hood was for display or if it were for sale, out of curiosity. He asked how much I would give for it, I said I had $5 in my pocket, and he said OK. I looked at him like "are you s#!ting me", he wasn't, I started pulling out 5 bucks and he said he would give it to me for nothing. I said "even better" and took it. Mark and I carried it to my car, and were stumped as to how to get it home. It wouldn't fit in my '94 325is or his Alfa Romeo 164S. We stuck it under the car to go look for someone we knew. We looked all day, no-one going our way. So we decided to tie it to the roof, we searched for 45 min to find something to wrap it in, finally got a tablecloth from the 'Georgia Experience' tent, and some Michelin banners to tie it with. We were starting to put it on the roof when the most wonderful person in the world came along, his name is Jim Walker, and he offered to take it back to Spartanburg for me, where I could pick it when I got a truck. I went back home to Marion, NC(35mi. east of Asheville) Sun. night. I got my dad's Nissan truck Mon. and drove 2hr back to Greenville to get it. I finally found him and got it. I offered him some money for his trouble, but he refused, he just told me to take care of it and we would be even. So I thanked him profusely and drove two more hours back home with my new prize and a huge grin on my face the whole way.
The only thing wrong with it is a dent in the front center, and the Roundel is gone, and the hood pin reinforcements are ripped out, no scratches or anything major.

THANK YOU JIM WALKER.

ps I'll post pics when I get them. haha
