First, I like to say that I have a ECIS intake for 97 M3. I absolutely LOVE it!!!! It makes my car sound alot better at WOT, now I just love to rev all the time.

But as far as is its value/cost... I have a K&N's catalog in font of me. The K&N's RE-0810 air filter cone cost $45. (I'm sure it will cost less when buy in bulk) This filter come with the intake. Other than that it is a tube and a heatshield. Now, the intake cost $225, so does the tube and the shield cost us extra $180????? I really do not know. And this is coming from a company that give us best-bang-for-your-a-lot-of-bucks-intake.

Anyways, not saying you shouldn't mod your car at all. I've purchased a BMW, I accept and deserve to be ripped off. I'm sure the same kit for Porsche will probably cost $500.
