The seat latch (that lets you get into the back seat)on the passenger side of my 96 M3 does not work. It just moves free - no tension. Has anyone else had this happen? Could it be simply a loose cable or a simple fix like that? If so has anyone done this (opened up the seat and repaired it) with success?

Likewise with my '95. My indie mechanic declided to do the job, saying that the back of the seat had to come off and that the fasteners would break in the process.

Evidently they're hard to find; I suggest ordering a replacement set before you or your mechanic attempts repairs.
