Because it is a very high quality shifter at an extremely resonable price.

I've had both the UUC Competition w/ the so called Effort Reducing Kit (ERK) and Ron's shifter (no ERK) in my car. Both had the exact same measured throw, and both required the same amount of force to shift. Ron's shifter duplicated the neutral position better then the UUC which means his bend was more accurate.
