Some easy ideas:

1. Check resevoir fluid level-low or high?
2. check mix of coolant. Are you running the 50/50? On my old miata, a mix of 60/40 threw the temp way out of whack. DOn't know how the BMW would react BUT, you get the coolant mix off enough, it freak out most systems.

That's about it considering you seem to have all new parts.
