Just bought a used 98 M3/4 with 17K miles fully loaded from a BMW dealer. The car is great in normal driving and just awesome in mountains. I drove around Half Moon Bay and in the mountains over there and was very impressed with the car's cornering. The car had four persons in it and it was still eating the UPs of mountain effortlessly.
I have driven stick shift before so I have some experience. But I am having some trouble doing really smooth shifting. By smooth shifting I mean I should not feel the resistence of the shifter when shifting and no jerks. Any hints on how to do proper shifting in an M3 would be of great help.
