I had a 95 Daytona Violet M3 and I now have a 97 Techno Violet M3. The Daytona was stricly for 95, as was Avus Blue. The Daytona is a slightly lighter color, but they are pretty similar.

I believe they have two different colors depending on the year of the M3. One color is the techno violet, and the other is the one you mentioned. I believe the daytona violet was only for '95 and that the techno violet was from '96+(correct me if I'm wrong :)). I'm not 100% positive on this, but I remember reading something on it and I did look at a '95 M3 with the same color as the one you are looking at.
