In Reply to: Where to go for best deal on rims in Bay Area? eom posted by Nick on October 05, 2000 at 09:41:26:

I know, I know...

But call around the Bay Area and find out price of rim and tires. (Say $2k)

Then add sales tax of 8.25% (eeeeek!)

So you'll pay 165.00 in sales tax. Yikes!

Find the same wheels online (Tire Rack, Discount Tire, Etc.)-order from out of state. Pay $20-$60 to ship.

No sales Tax.

Saves about $100.

Been ordering Rims and Tires this way for a years and hey, you don't have to drive home with tires in your trunk or seat! :]

Just an idea.

Have fun!
