The SRS has it's own power supply that takes 10-15 minutes to fully discharge AFTER the battery has been disconnected. I suspect that when you took out the passenger seat, you may have not disconnected the battery or if you did, the 10-15 minutes needed to discharge the SRS was not allowed to elapse before disconnecting the wiring harness under the seat. This has caused a fault code in the SRS and only the dealer can clear and reset.

On my 95 m3, the air bag light stays on for about a minute then goes off. It starting happening when I took out the glove compartment to put in a factory alarm. Any idea's. Thanks

Forgot to include that I also took out the passenger seat
