After reading all the reviews I was prepared for the car to have poor low end torque. It is actually quite sufficent (till you get back in your M!) and it literally screams at that 9k redline. Nice clutch and gearbox. Clutch is a little shorter and I have to admit the gearbox is much crisper and shorter than my 97 M3/4. Seats were Recaro which were an improvement over my Sedans. Sedan def. needs more lateral support. Good brakes and responsive feel cornering.
On the down side if you flip you are history. The roll protection was designed for people under 6'- its just not high enough.

I think its a close race. Both cars do what they do well - but you can't really compare them as they go about it different ways. Its apples and oranges but both are delicious.

Btw. my friend is a big M3 fan as well. And if you think M3 are expensive to mod - Mugen just came out with a intake finally for the S2000. Carbon fiber airbox and costs $1200!!

Just my 2cents
