very generous with your help, but i'm afraid i've just opened a pandora's box here. with this old issue, seems like the two camps are pretty deep.

but it seems like everyone agrees that my 50W x 2 rockford amp (even if bridged) is not enough to power the 2 10"s (if i read the follow ups right). is this in general or specific to the sealed trunk issue? also, no seems strongly opposed to removing the rear speakers, particularly if the front imaging is adequate. which begs the question: is my front imaging adequate? especially with the 5 1/2"s positioned as they are.

in any case, i think i might just keep the rears, bridge and parallel the sub's in the trunk, and see what i get. and when i really want the sound, just fold down one of the rear seats. although a lot of road and exhaust noise do come in with the seats down. after some substantial research, this is probably what i'll do unless, of course, someone with persuasive argument strongly opposes this initial (and i think cost-efficient) approach.

again, thanks for the advice and any future advice as well
