Similar problem. 50's now too, had a chip installed in the summer, and now it's really rough at the first few minutes of starting, revs sometimes dropping so far as to stall the car....

My 1995 M3 is idle throttling abnormally. It will throttle at 700-800rpm for a moment, then drop to 500 and bounce back to 700-800rpm. It will go up and down 3-5 times back-to-back and then settle at 600-700rpm and idle normally until I accelerate and come to the next stop. Could it be due to colder weather (50F or so)? This will be my first winter with the car. Could it be due to the replacement "high performance" computer? I would appreciate any ideas...
