Provided your engine is not dieseling (continuing to fire after the ignition is off) your problem is most likely the expansion/contraction of your exhaust system. The noise you are hearing is caused by the pipes, metal joints and heat shields cooling off and shrinking. Different metals expand/shrink at different rates, so if you have dissimilar metals rubbing against each other, you will hear noise. The sound is a metallic ticking with no obvious pattern right? If so, it's completely normal.
